Have you ever had this experience?

You are plugging along in your business thinking you are on the right track and then one day your whole point of view changes and you are confronted with the idea that you are doing it all wrong? You realize that what you are focused on is wrong. How you do it is wrong. And, you are way far away from doing the right things to get yourself back on track in your business.

Man plans and God laughs. ~ Michael Chabon

Being an entrepreneur is a big experiment.

You try things and some of them work and others don’t.

A lot of people give up too soon.

  • You have to be resilient to be a successful entrepreneur.
  • You have to be humble to be a successful entrepreneur.
  • You have to be willing to fail forward and learn from your mistakes as a successful entrepreneur.

A lot of people have jobs working for other people because they can’t handle the heat.

I have gone back and forth between working for someone else in Corporate America and doing my own thing in my own business. I learned a lot from both experiences. But, I always end up going it alone and working for myself in the end because I am happier and have more freedom.

We are in the last quarter of our first year of business. We have already hit 6 figures but it was a grind for a while. I thought  I figured things out and then I’d feel like I was way off and it was back to the drawing board again. That is a sickening feeling in my stomach, having to start all over again.

But, what I have come to realize is that is me stretching outside my comfort zone to learn what I need to learn to take things to the next level.

It is uncomfortable to keep growing your business and yourself.

I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on coaches and marketing specialists in the last year. How about you? Are you willing to invest in yourself and your business? It takes time, effort, and money to succeed as an entrepreneur.

I have been disheartened by the lack of integrity of coaches and so called marketing specialists who have not delivered on their promises. I trusted them to do what they said they would and they didn’t. I was out of the money I invested and didn’t get the results I paid for. That is very frustrating.

I don’t ever want to be that person who makes promises I can’t keep. How about you?

We have a long way to go to reach 7-figures, but I love a challenge. It is what gets me up in the morning. It gives me a reason for living.

We aren’t going to get there from here. We have to do things differently in order to take a 6-figure business to 7-figures and then 8.

We keep investing, learning and growing. How about you?

  • You have to be visible on a consistent and regular basis to be seen and heard and competitive so people know you exist.
  • You have to reach out and make connections with other entrepreneurs and support them in their businesses by using the services you know you need.
  • You have to be willing to spend money to make it in your business. And, when you do, you support other businesses and the economy.

And, you have to make offers and sell.

You don’t walk into a hardware store to buy a hammer and then have to hunt for the hammer and beg people to show you where they are. No. They are right there in plain sight and easy to buy.

  • Do you make it easy to buy your product or service?
  • Does anyone even know what you do?
  • How are you getting it out there and on display to make it easy for people to buy from you?

You have to make offers and sell every-single-day.

Don’t struggle and suffer in silence.

Learn. Grow. Invest in yourself and your business.

Focus your time and effort on the income generating activities of networking, marketing, and selling.
